Jewels in the Dark for Pam

It has been very quiet here in CaliQuilter blogland. I have been spending lots of hours with a web designer who is building a website for me, which is exciting. I had no idea it would require so much time and planning, but I am excited that we are nearing launch time!

On the sewing front, I have just completed a block for Pam in the Quilt Around the World Bee. She asked for a block featuring strong geometric figures, using clear, bright colors on a Kona Charcoal background. She calls these blocks Jewels in the Dark. Here is my block:

This block pattern is called "Lightening Bolt." Pam said it reminded her of a summer lightening storm so I guess it is aptly named. This is a photo of her blocks so far. Pam's starter block is at the very bottom.

It might be interesting to sash these blocks and turn them in different orientations to each other. In any event, it will be fun to see what the rest of the group comes up and to see how Pam sets these together.

Until next time,
    Joan
